HOME INVADER
The Home Invader Streamer is designed to imitate common prey species for a wide variety of predatory gamefish, if it eats a smaller fish, you can count on this fly getting eaten! This fly was featured in the April 2010 issue of Fly Fisherman Magazine, and is unique and innovative streamer. Inspired by many well known streamers designed by the likes of Bob Clouser, Jack Gartside, Carrie Stevens, and Bob Popovics; Doug McKnight’s Home Invader utilizes ideas from many other flies into a great streamer tied with mostly natural materials. When wet, this fluffy streamer slicks up into a perfect baitfish silhouette, and with the natural materials, becomes alive in the water. Predatory fish react accordingly, and the takes from these fish can be downright jaw dropping! Typically, the Home Invader is tied on a heavy-duty freshwater streamer hook (TMC 700) with lead dumbbell eyes, but they can easily be tied on Saltwater hook or lighter weight eyes if you desire.

NATURAL SERIES HOME INVADER
This series of the Home Invader Streamer utilizes Ring-necked Pheasant Marabou and Australian Possum body, resulting in naturally subdued shades of grey and tan. This is one of Doug’s favorite variations and is devastating large, educated trout in clear water. Over the years this pattern has caught some really huge fish out of demanding waters. Due to the size of the marabou this fly is only available in sizes #4-8.

SASQUATCH

The Sasquatch is one of the gnarliest and nastiest streamers out there today. It is designed for big trout and Smallmouth Bass, and really works well when molting Crayfish are on the menu. The body of this fly made from Woodchuck fur that pushes a ton of water, fish can feel this fly as well as see it’s large profile. Even though the hair is fairly stiff and course, you still get a ton of movement.

LOWRIDER SCULPIN
Tied on a heavy lead headed jig, the Lowrider Sculpin, is designed to be fished right along the bottom. This fly gets down quick in heavy current, there is very little wait time to get to get down and this fly gets to the bottom quickly where any good Sculpin imitation belongs. The Lowrider Sculpin has a realistic head and fins, along with a very active bunny strip tail and body. Don’t hit yourself with this fly, you have been warned!

PIGPEN LEACH

Developed for fishing western stillwaters and the large fish they contain, the Pigpen leach excels at fooling oversized trout. While the Pigpen is designed to imitate a leach, it also imitates Damsel & Dragonfly nymphs, small baitfish, even a crayfish. The Pigpen is just as effective on moving waters, and the all of the materials on this fly move and breathe, even when you are not imparting any action on this fly. Even when it’s standing still, it’s still moving, and a slow, stop and go retrieve is often too much for Stillwater trout of epic proportions to lay off of.

ROAD WARRIOR DAMSELFLY NYMPH
This fly is the result of Doug McKnight getting his butt handed to him on a particular Montana Lake that holds some huge, but incredibly difficult trout. This is an ultra realistic fly that also moves like a swimming Damselfly nymph and can get it done when you have big trout keying on Damsels that are being super selective.

SWEETGRASS HOPPER
The Sweetgrass Hopper floats like a cork in fast water, is highly visible with a fluffy Antron wing, and has a realistic profile when viewed from the fish’s perspective. This pattern is quickly becoming a go to fly out west. You can expect to catch as many as 50 fish on a single hopper, as long as you don’t lose this fly in a tree. The Sweetgrass Hopper will hold up to some serious punishment from hopper-crazed fish.

FATBOY CHERNOBYL ANT

The Fatboy is a great foam attractor fly, it covers a lot of different insects, but copies the Midnight Stonefly (Clacinia) very well, that hatches out west all summer. With it’s tan body and dark wing it is a lock for the Midnight Stone, and anglers in the know, know that fish go out of their way to hammer this big dry.

THE CRIMP
As the name implies, the Crimp is half crab and half shrimp, and then some! Bonefish, Permit, Redfish love to pin this fly to the bottom and crunch it. This fly has a great Crustacean shape and has a ton of movement, and is a winner throughout the gulf and the Caribbean for any species that seeks shrimp and crabs. The Crimp is usually tied with Lead eyes, but can easily be tied with lighter bead chain eyes for skinny water.

E.R. CRAB
This soft and pliable crab is a great fly to throw at a variety of flats species, especially Permit. A lot of Permit crab patterns use epoxy and result in a hard body that can lead to heartbreak when you do get a take. Permit can break hooks and dumbbell eyes, so an epoxy body is not much trouble for them. An epoxy body can break and spin around the hook and can sometimes block the hook gap on the take. The ER crab embodies what a great crab imitation should and the body will never break loose and block the gap. This fly is usually tied with lead eyes, but can be ordered with lighter eyes as well. Take that you trash can lid SOB’s!

WHISPER SHRIMP
The Whisper Shrimp lands in the water with barely a ripple, and is designed for skinny water Bonefish and Redfish, as well Laid up or high riding Tarpon. This is a great choice for fishing in really skinny water where any kind of weighted eyes make too much of a splash. This fly will save the day in some demanding situations on the flats, big fish in skinny water with barely a breeze…Tarpon that have seen it all…

SLINGBLADE SPOONFLY
Although anglers chasing Redfish have invented spoonflies, they will catch just about anything. Tie this unique spoonfly on with a loop knot and it will wobble on the drop or a long slow strip. Fish of all species can’t lay off of this wobbling crippled minnow; this is a great Bass fly as well.
